Congratulations on starting your Read-a-Rama journey!
We're so happy you're joining us.
This first Welcome course is designed to get you immersed in the Camp Read-a-Rama experience -- well, as much as is possible when learning online in a self-paced manner! For example, we ask you to complete a torn-art project to introduce yourself, just like you would if you were attending camp in person. We conclude the Welcome course with a visual schedule that sets the stage for the remaining courses in this learning path, just like you would see at camp.
For this course, please gather whatever arts and crafts materials you would like to use to create your self portrait. Although many of the examples feature construction paper, please feel free to use whatever resources you have on hand.
The visual schedule and other job aids you will encounter in this learning path are designed to be downloaded and printed it out. Do take advantage of these aids, and find more of them in the Resources section of the Read-a-Rama learning portal.
Objectives
In this first introductory course in the Read-a-Rama certifcation learning path, you will:
- Immerse yourself in the Read-a-Rama experience by doing.
- Complete a torn art self-portrait as part of your introduction.
- Practice three Read-a-Rama opening songs.
